Zero Surplus are working exclusively with a leading consumer business, who are looking to appoint a new category buyer to work with the trading, buying, sales and marketing team to develop, implement and deliver a category strategy.
Reporting to the head of the buying department, you will work with our senior team to drive category growth in line with their company objectives; through the implementation of category initiatives of your own design, provide detailed analysis and insights on category opportunities and manage through the delivery of these opportunities, provide detailed analysis and insights on key customer account opportunities, and assisting the sales team to deliver these opportunities, and work to meet company targets and margin growth targets.
The ideal candidate will have buying experience within the FMCG or food arena (or transferable alternative,) and are now looking to step up your career by joining a very progressive and successful company within a category buyer level position. Previous customer/stakeholder facing experience and a track record of relationship building, great analytical and numerical skills, and proven negotiating skills used to deal with suppliers of all sizes are all important for this role, as is buying experience within the food sector.
This role is commutable from Huntingdon, Cambridge, St Ives, Bedford, Ely, Chatteris, Peterborough, Newmarket, March, Norwich, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Stowmarket, Colchester or Haverhill.
