Business Development Manager – Events Agency – £35,000 to £40,000 (60k OTE Uncapped)

Do you have a passion and understanding for business development and events? Do you appreciate the importance of events and exhibitions in the professional world, and have proven experience selling agency services, ideally events services or into the corporate market? If so, we could have a role that could offer you the next step in your career, as we’re working with a small but growing specialist events agency in Reading seeking to hire a BD into an agile and highly rewarding role, that could progress quickly with the company’s rapid growth.

We are working with a boutique agency based in Reading on a new position selling their wide range of innovative and forward-thinking events and exhibition services. This is very much a hunter position with a high level of face to face and phone based interaction required. It also required supporting events and campaigns as well as leads generation and maintenance of existing accounts. Our client isn’t restricted by formal structures or rigid hierarchy; this role and the growth within the company is only limited by your imagination and the delivery of results. But candidates must be willing to put in the hard work, and ideally bring a black book of clients with them into the role that they can leverage.

Our client believes that constant communication is the life blood of the business and will require the candidate to feel confident and comfortable making a substantial number of calls per day to generate meetings and sales. You will identify potential new clients through desk research, media reviews, industry updates and key contacts. Also, this role requires the Business Development Manager to attend networking and industry events to increase contacts and develop potential business leads.

If you possess 4-5 years knowledge and experience working in a business acquisition role, ideally from an agency/events background, Substantial contacts and new business opportunities that can be brought to the business, and knowledge of the sales process from sourcing new business leads through to the closing the deal, this could be the opportunity for you.

Due to their location this role is commutable from Reading, Marlow, Maidenhead, Wokingham, London, Camberley, Basingstoke, Newbury, Thatcham, Oxford, Wallingford and Henly-On-Thames.
