Here’s a brief description of each option to give you a rough idea of whether it’s the right one for you to use:
Career Change – Most suitable if you are looking to move your career in a different direction.
Executive Level – Generally aimed at candidates working at board level, who struggle to fit everything in.
Graduate First – A CV for fresh graduates with little or no working history.
Skills Based – Another option for those looking to change career, returning to work, or if your job titles do not best represent what you did in your role. A strong option for applications where skills are more important than the job itself.
Standard Chronological + Skills – A hybrid style, gives some of the benefits of a skills based CV without the lack of focus on jobs themselves.
Standard Chronological – The most common and widely used format, continually well received by employers as very clear and concise, though focused on each individual job as opposed to skills. A good option for graduates with some solid working history.
Technical – Similar to skills based, this is the CV for candidates that want to talk more about their technical ability. Better suited for those seeking careers where specific software and hardware capability is a key driver in hiring decisions.
Academic – A great option for those of you wishing to showcase your academic achievements.
Career Gap – A useful option if you have a gap in your history to explain. This style will help you make your experience take pride of place, as opposed to the period you were not working.
Temping – This style will help you compress multiple temping roles. Giving you a format that appears less choppy.
